چکیده

Heterodyne holography is an extremely versatile and powerful holographic technique that is able to fully control the amplitude, phase and frequency of both the illumination and holographic reference beams. Applied to vibration analysis, this technique is able to detect the signal of the carrier or the one of any vibration sideband. A complete analysis of the vibration signal can thus be made, and 2D map of the vibration amplitude and phase in all points of the surface of the vibrating object can be obtained. Since the sensitivity is limited by shot noise, extremely low vibration amplitude (< 0.01 nm) can be studied. Citation Verrier, N., Atlan, M. and Gross, M. Multipoint laser Doppler vibrometry using holographic optical elements and a CMOS digital camera.

A laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) is described in which holographic optical elements are used to provide the interferometer reference and object illumination beams. A complementary metal-oxide semiconductor camera, incorporating a digital signal processor, is used to carry out real-time signal processing of the interferometer output to allow multipoint LDV to be implemented.

Phase-resolved heterodyne holographic vibrometry with a strobe local oscillator.

We report a demonstration of phase-resolved vibrometry, in which out-of-plane sinusoidal motion is assessed by heterodyne holography. In heterodyne holography, the beam in the reference channel is an optical local oscillator (LO). It is frequency-shifted with respect to the illumination beam to enable frequency conversion within the sensor bandwidth. The proposed scheme introduces a strobe LO, ...

Inspection of Laser Generated Lamb Waves using Shearographic Interferometry

The implementation of structural health monitoring systems in modern aircraft structures made of carbon fibre reinforced plastics requires a deeper understanding of the propagation of impact generated Lamb waves. In this paper a digital shearing interferometry method is presented that allows visualization of laser generated Lamb waves. The contactless full field measurement of these waves is pe...

Optical Metrology under Extreme Conditions

Optical metrology provides full field, noncontact, precise measurement of various physical parameters of materials, structures, and devices. These properties include kinematic parameters (displacement, velocity, and acceleration), deformation parameters (strains, curvature, and twist), surface parameters (shape and roughness), and mechanical properties of materials (Young’s modulus, Poisson’s r...

Three-dimensional vibrometry of the human eardrum with stroboscopic lensless digital holography.

The eardrum or tympanic membrane (TM) transforms acoustic energy at the ear canal into mechanical motions of the ossicles. The acousto-mechanical transformer behavior of the TM is determined by its shape, three-dimensional (3-D) motion, and mechanical properties. We have developed an optoelectronic holographic system to measure the shape and 3-D sound-induced displacements of the TM. The shape ...
